Coastal Pathway: Coolum to Point Perry
A short coastline board walk past towering Norfolk Pines to one of the Sunshine Coast’s most spectacular headlands.
Suitability
The boardwalk to Point Perry is suitable for walkers, prams and wheelchairs, a great outing for elderly people as its an easy grade on a stable surface with seats along the way. The boardwalk is also suitable for recreational cyclists – remember to ring your bell.
Highlights
From the Surf Club Follow the wide Coolum Boardwalk as it hugs the coastline for 600 metres to Point Perry, a rocky headland that marks the Southern Boundary of Coolum Beach. From here there are great ocean views north up the coast to Peregian and the Noosa Headland and south to the sheltered beach, First Bay, and rocky bluffs beyond. There are interpretive signs you can read along the way and shelters in Wilkinson Park, which Point Perry is a part of. Point Perry, like Point Arkwright, can be a great place for whale spotting during Spring.
Afterwards
If you are feeling particularly energetic you can walk on for another 1.5 km to get to Point Arkwright. Alternatively you can return to Coolum where you can enjoy an ice cream, coffee or drink at the Coolum Beach shops, or pop into the Surf Life Saving Club, a great spot any time of the day.
Alternatively, from Point Perry you can head back to Coolum and stay on the path for another 2km approximately and head to Norrie Job Memorial Park and Stumers Creek.
How to get there
To the starting point: Start at the Coolum Surf Life Saving Club, which is at Coolum on David Low Way and the T junction of Beach Road. Mostly there are street parks available. With the ocean on your left, start walking southwards.
To the end point: The end point is the same as the starting point.

Predominately a wonderful boardwalk that has spectacular views. Great for Whale watching during the winter months.
Spectacular ocean views from a wide elevated boardwalk. Great path for young children on bikes or scooters, so look out. Point Perry has a large new shelter with a groovy ceiling, so look up. You can judge the rides of surfers on both sides of Point Perry, so look down. I recommend you combine this with the Point Arkwright Trail unless you have a pram, wheelchair, kids on bikes etc.
