Weyba Creek Cycle Loop from Girraween grounds

Walking Cycling6.5 kmEasyCircuit

A great way to experience one of Noosa’s estuaries and the Noosa of old on this mostly flat circuit.

Suitability

Suitable for recreational cyclists or mountain bikers wanting to do a creekside ride. It’s an easy grade. Route can also be walked or jogged.

Highlights

For those who want a picturesque longer loop than Girraweens criterium circuit, there are several on offer and this one is highly recommended.

Note: It’s not a signposted route, so follow the red trail on our map.

The route crosses Weyba Creek on both the charming historical wooden bridge and the soaring new bypass bridge for fantastic birdseye views of this natural area.

Weyba Creek is the channel by which waters flow from Lake Weyba out to the Noosa River.

The cycle or walking route winds through creekside parks, with minimal vehicle risks and maximum water views – and at times magnificent birdlife. There’s an Osprey that nests in the Weyba Park Mangrove Walk area as well as Mangrove Gerygones and Striated Herons.

This route is a great way around Weyba Creek for all abilities, just remember there are several road crossings.

Afterwards

Head to Noosaville or Noosa Junction for some healthy snacks – plenty of eateries open day and night – or pop over to Sunshine Beach for a surf or enjoy refreshments from the food outlets on Hill Street.

How to get there

To the starting point: Park in the Girraween Sports Complex Carpark off Eenie Creek Road (near the roundabout that joins Langura Street.) There is parking for 160 cars. From here, head out to Eenie Creek Road and follow the cement pathway to your left that runs beside it.

To the end point: The end point is the same as your starting point.
